At our company, we are looking for a way to control multiple configurations for assemblies that could run in parallel.
i.e. We have 2 assemblies with the same part number, Rev A for Lot 1, and Rev B for Lot 2. It looks like we can control the release of those by the effectivity date, but we would like to have a unique identifier that shows up on all the various reports as well as shop orders so it is obvious to anyone looking at it which part goes to which Lot or final assembly.

Anyone know if there is a way to do that in E9?

Thanks

I believe that the revision letter prints on the shop traveler. I do know that the revision letter is part of the job.
The problem is that Epicor does not track revisions of parts once they arrive in stock. If your are lot controlled (which it looks like) then the lot number would help in tracking that back to the job, which points to the revision. If not lot controlled, once the part is put into inventory, then the inventory is mixed with all parts that are in stock, and revision tracking is lost.

There has been discussions that sometime in the future, Epicor may support revision tracking in inventory, but it is not yet.
